If you are talking about a doppler..... it is usually kept in the crash cart..... at least at the places where I worked at. Tendons are located at the ending of muscles and are what attach muscle to bones. Tendons are naturally resilient, but their shortage of flexibility and constant tugging due to their location make them more apt to tear. These minuscule tears cause irritation and soreness and this condition is known as tendonitis. Indications of Tendinitis can vary from tenderness and inflexibility in the general area of the affected tendon to seemingly blazing area surrounding the affected area. Hurting is going to most likely be at its worst during the day and/or after bodily activities. Tendon and joint sections may also be stiff the day after action. Those most affected by this condition generally use the same tendons for repetitive exercises or work, such as playing racquetball or pulling levers at a job. Tendonitis can be prevented by consistently stretching muscles, especially the ones that get more use than the others. This causes the tendon's link to the muscle to increase in length and become more flexible and therefore, less likely to tear. Tendinitis can turn into a very severe problem if it is not recognized and cared for quickly. It is important to deal with the condition as soon as possible to prevent it from reaching a more brutal stage. For chronic tendonitis, a portable home ultrasound machine can help relieve the pain and heal the condition. Ultrasound therapy treatments were once reserved only for pro athletes and those that could afford them. Now, you can utilize ultrasonic ultrasound to treat many painful conditions. Therapeutic ultrasound treatment is a rehab method that uses sound waves to treat pain, inflammation and muscle spasm. Commonly utilized by chiropractors, doctors and physical therapists since the 1940's, the safety and effectiveness of ultrasound has long been established in the medical community. Ultra sound waves penetrate the surface layers of the skin, causing tissues to vibrate, producing a deep heat to soothe inflammation and relieve pain. In addition, ultra sonic devices increase blood flow and oxygen to reduce local swelling and speed the healing process. Chronic conditions, such as tendinitis, means constant re-injury leading to additional scar tissue, decreased range of motion, limited performance and a life time of pain. For tendon injuries, you need a specific kind of ultrasound machine that is meant to treat soft tissue injuries, such as the units offered at EZUltrasound.com. EZUltrasound.com offers a selection of portable 1Mhz home ultrasound machines and gel. These wonderful pain therapy systems are portable medical-grade ultrasound devices used to relieve pain and promote healing. Treating tendonitis is now easy with ultrasound physical therapy. |
Ultrasound Machine
![]() How can I ask my doctor for an ultrasound at my next appointment? I have an appointment next week and I'll be almost 17 wks. My doctor has an ultrasound machine in his office and I'm DYING to know the gender of my baby! I don't want to wait until the 20 wk ultrasound. Is there any way I can get him to give me one next week? most likely he will not give you an ultrasound , it is not a necessity that you have one unless you are having problems, and at 17 weeks you will not be able to find out the sex i suggest you just suck it up and wait it out. You have to respect the doctors practices and how he does things. You cannot tell a doctor to do something unless they feel its medically necessary. I have seen it from both sides |

Anesthesia Machine
![]() general anesthesia - how safe is it? Have you ever gone under it? Just would like to hear what people have to say who have had general anesthesia. I am having a laparoscopic in my abdominal to determin endometriosis. I am a bit nervous about the anesthesia, the part where they put a tube in your trachea and have a machine breath for you makes me nervous as well. I would like to hear from people who have had a general anesthesia. Thanks. I'll give you an answer from someone that has both had general anesthesia, and delivers it daily in cases just like yours. General anesthesia is the preferred technique for laparascopic procedures, mostly because of the surgical technique involved. Without trying to sound gruesome, the surgeon usually needs to put CO2 into the abdomen in order to create a working space. This means safety for you, because you want him/her to see as well as possible right? Because of the CO2 insufflation, and the general abdominal surgery, it can put pressure in areas that can affect your breathing. That's one of the reasons why the anesthetist would secure your airway with the "tube in your trachea" and place you on a ventilator....For your safety. The ventilator allows the anesthetic gas to be administered, after the IV medication wears off. It also give tremendous data on how you're breathing. So the breathing tube and machine are for your safety...to make sure you do well. There are other techniques available, but the risks usually outweigh the benefits. The anesthetist is your guardian...they're there to make sure you don't feel pain, you don't remember the procedure, and to make sure you do well during the procedure. When you talk with the anesthesia team before your procedure, be very upfront with your medical conditions...and your concerns. Personally, I've had 3 procedures done...twice under general anesthesia. Every time I woke up not worrying about the anesthesia...just the road to recovery...and not even that much until after the pain medication diminished. Keep in mind that laparoscopic procedures are among the most common surgeries today. Frequency = competency= safety. Good luck with your procedure. Any more questions, ask away! |
